Limited light must be addressed to bring the bathroom into the living world of the home interior. I am happy to see there is a growing trend in design away from frosted windows to transparent with larger windows treated with various types of window coverings impart a spacious feel to bath decor.
Still there is the existing and/or older home to deal with. Decorating Ideas for the bathroom are more limited than any other living space. However, application of some Bathroom Light Ideas can very pleasantly maximize bathroom design and enjoyment.

Getting It Functional
There is still general misconception & lack of knowledge about what good effective bathroom lighting really is. In many applications there still seems to be antiquated use of overhead fixtures trying to make general lighting fit all lighting needs in all areas of the home.

I will cover here, some fairly basic, very practical effective bathroom light ideas. These may seem unusual depending where you’re coming from & what you’re used to as ‘normal’ bathroom lighting. ‘Normal’ has meant in the past, too-high overhead general lighting that is ineffective, creating shadow however bright the wattage may be. I am often surprised at how many people still believe that a light bar over the vanity mirror 'is' bathroom lighting!

A RELAXING BATH TREAT - Two Personal Favorites
Enjoy these terrific soaks to ease away all the stress of the day. You may even have the ingredients in your kitchen. If not they're easily available at grocery or health store!
1) Dissolve into your tub 1/2 to 1 cup each of sea salt & epsom salt. You may add something bubbly if you wish.
2) To the above salts 1 cup of apple cider vinegar may be added. I don't know why this works, but it is marvelous!
Light some candles!
Soak for about 20 minutes. The salts replenish your body minerals & relax you. They also draw out toxins & water, so you may feel thirsty. Drink water & relax. Ahhhhh..
A tip - large bags of Epsom (magnesium sulphate used for roses) can be found at a garden supply stores. Always on hand economical, regular luxury!
