“How do I Choose Paint Color for house staging?”
Choosing Paint Color is especially critical for real estate staging. Next to "What's the best color?", it's a common question.
Room Paint Color Finally Rules!
The (seemingly) simple question of 'the best staging color', one may not realize the complexity of.
First a simple answer. Acceptable & even desireable room paint colors for resale has (finally) graduated to the real world, from blank ‘off-white’ (was that ever even a color?) to color – YAY!! - while yet there are realtors advising it.
Whatever made us think it was most suitable?! It is blank, lifeless, sterile. Everything 'goes' with it? Well it doesn't. In fact nothing works with it very well.
You have to work much harder at a cohesive interior when you're working with a colorless paint scheme. Unless you're going for monochromatic, which appeals to few, it is difficult to design. (cont>>)
Choosing Paint Color - Workable Walls
Room paint colors make decorating or staging easier, requiring far less arrangement fuss and accessories. One client I consulted on color
with, decided to take the plunge with my room paint ideas, painting the 'off-white' walls in her bedroom suite, a color she loved, a beautiful rusty red.
A yummy buttery yellow was the paint scheme for the rest of the house. She happily painted herself and later exclaimed, "I don't need to put so much stuff (art, etc.) on the walls! One picture looks great where before there was a lot on the wall."
A little resistant at first, she de-cluttered putting away the many knick-knacks used previously trying to 'decorate'. The poor lady tried so hard, her white walls working against her the whole way. The new color combination required minimal decorating.
The bland walls were prohibitive to her attempts. That's the problem with trying to put life into a decor with lifeless
house paint colors.
This client sold short time later even though the realtor warned that the house paint scheme could be a problem. Not at all - she got a great price for it! It was staged beautifully - and sparingly!
New Neutrals - Choosing Paint Color for Staging
A well known fact in Real Estate, is the huge restoration paint endows a home interior with.
It is still necessary to choose paint color within a moderate range for house staging. However new paint color ideas now consider room paint colors as ‘neutrals’, including yellows, various deeper richer & metallic beige and copper tones, greens, orange. It started back in the 80's, when 'peach' became a 'neutral' in home interior design. Many interior paint color ideas are suitable depending on the tone, tint, hue, etc.
The question of the best interior paint ideas for staging homes may seem easy enough. However there are many factors in this determination & decision besides the wall paint color itself.
If I were to tell you that 3602 copper paint color was the current hottest new 'neutral', please understand color is powerful & important, but cannot stand on its own – ever. So simply painting 3602 copper in itself, will most likely be the absolutely wrong thing to do! (It is a great color though!)
As with any evaluation & application of room paint color or exterior color, it is essential to take into account several factors, including the color combinations already in play.
There are many excellent interior paint color ideas. The
key is what is best for any particular
paint scheme application. (please continue below)
