REDUCE CLUTTER

Nothing more effectively makes a small space smaller than clutter. Put away, containerize.

Keep toiletries in tidy containers. A basket or tray at the sink can work well. Organize with small attractive water resistant containers to hold items like scrubbies, shavers, pumice, etc. in the wet shower or bath areas.

STORAGE - Go Up The Walls

Where there is little floor space, as in the small bathroom, there remains wall space, often not utilized. This is true of most rooms. You may need handy, a step stool to reach, but going up high with slim line shallow cabinets or shelving of sorts opens up marvelous possibilities for towels, toiletries, etc.

Often not thought of, but very convenient, is the possibility of storage just outside the bathroom door. Often there is hallway space or a corner, for an attractive shelving unit of sorts to hold towels, toiletries and cleaning products. Keep items containerized in attractive baskets on the shelves.

REDECORATING
SMALL BATHROOM DECORATING IDEAS

Basic Renovation can cost as little as $500 or less. Depending on the condition of the bathroom, there are
several levels improvement. This
is the most basic transformation.

Paint
Accessories
Hardware
Towels
Art
Mirrors

Even the tiniest bathroom has great possibilities and can be accomplished with minimal cost.

1) Keep the paint color light, bright, airy. Blend towel and accessory colors with the wall color.

2) Use Mirrors to create the illusion of more space.

3) Go up the walls – Accentuating wall height also creates ‘space’. Create a galleria that reaches up high. Hang a large vertically oriented mirror. Stacked art – several pieces racking up one above the other.

4) If you need more storage, mount shelves that are up high – store extra towels and decorative items there. Bathroom wall space is often wasted – this is a great way to use it.

5) Consider the ceiling the same color as the walls or slightly lighter.
