Some like to go all the way with blue-white on sleek smooth surfaces. This is a very minimalist, usually modern, stark, effect. It mirrors and fits the psychological need for minimalist uncluttered lifestyle, at least in effect.
Go all the way with white in the contemporary interior design, or add a splash of color to change it up – anything – bright, pastel, black.
2) Creamy Warm Textural White Traditions
For others, welcoming warmer whites are wonderful, varying shades and tints in the room. The use of textures of textiles, fabrics, carpet, cushions, draperies, etc. in various whites create the substantial softening and ‘layering’ effect that creates wonderful awe-inspiring richness.
3) Warm White Textures And Tones
Stepping the white room décor further into color, introducing the warming tones of woods and earthy neutral colors create a still warmer effect. Keep in mind the importance of mixing up the textures, however.
Even with woods, try a combination of rattan woods or wicker, with traditional smooth woods. Different colors of woods work also.
What is the test of the successfully appointed white room? It should feel balanced and comfortable. Regardless of how stark, or the varying degrees of white, you should be able to relax in any room.
